I bought a Refurbished unit came in a card board Box .. I didn't get any of those accessories other and than a USB Cable and a Cigarette charger ..I got robbed.. I hooked it up to my Wi Fi I had to put my passwords in .. It never asked me to Register it or update it .. Now I realize it was still Registered to the Pervious Owner..
I set up my E-mail put in addresses for a Multi Stop Trip .. then it crashed it won't boot up won't shut down .. I wasted over 4 hours on hold trying to contact Customer Service .. Then they got my e-mail wrong had to start all over again .. on hold 40 more minutes to get it e-mailed to me ..
Mine is called a TDN 80 B purchased Nov 7th 2018.. have no Clue what the differences are with your model ..

It really only needs an internet connection to update. You can use hot spot on your phone. But if it has traffic updates etc, it will not show you unless its connected to wifi. But it does not always have to have connection. Just hot spot on your phone occasionally to make sure maps updated. I was only going to buy this one for Sirius because this company I'm with dont have Sirius ready built in radio. And I dont want wires all over my dash and antenna cables out my door. But I think I'm going to go with Garmin.

i have the tnd 8 and it has some serious issues with changing the system date from the actual date to 2057 or 1926 the dash cam works when it wants as well as the trip maker the date issue prevents me from using it as an e-log platform fortunately i have a Samsung tablet i can use for that or my phone and since i am running ag loads im not required to be on e-logs yet

I've been using a Rand McNally 530 for 3 years now and have not ran into a problem yet I keep it updated and I also use common sense.

If I'm going into an area or a shipper that I know is sketchy I'll review the root and even use Google Street View.

You can pick up a refurbished one off Rand McNally website for $150

All these gps's suck, there all made in China. I've had tom tom , garmin , rand mc nally, cobra they all broke within a year cheap plastic bullshit. I use smart truck route for a couple of yrs now, and love it, great app and also use google maps. Together its a great combo.

No Google play store. All those apps that you purchased on google wont install.
It does look nicer than the TN80 with a better screen but that is about it.

The OverDryve worthless I bought it and I`m talking it back, Rand McNally lied in their representation. The OverDryve has no Collision warning and no lane warning either, no traffic no weather, it works fine if you buy anther data plan for it, if it not connect it to your phone or WIFI not going to function at all. I recommend Garmin dezel Cam GPS, it come with everything without WIFI or data plan and it is cheaper. This guys talking about things it`s way to old to know.
