Don’t spend $600 on the Celeron Google Pixel Slate. Just don’t do it.

Celeron 😯 did they pick the processor from a bargain bin?????? But in any case, this is what I have come to expect of Google; I got a Pixel (1) going solely by the Google name and turns out, its a piece of shit.

The problem with this device is Chrome OS which is crap. Look Samsung's tab s5e which has an ok but not cutting edge processor but is butter smooth. Google should throw the Chrome OS out of the garbage and put Android on it.

Hey man, solid review. When I saw the title and how you recommend iPad Pro in the description I was sure you were paid by Apple to hammer down Pixel Slate.
But you stay objective and even gave Google the benefit of the doubt before you went ahead with your thoughts.
Personally, I'm more of a MS Surface Pro user, but your reviews are great! Subscribing for sure!

Can you use regular programs on it? Like could I download trakor 3 on it? It is a DJ program and I need a portable device to run it but don't need a laptop because all I will use it this program on it.

It seems pretty bogus that you've based this review on the budget model. The i5 still wouldn't be as powerful as what the iPad Pro runs; so your indignant "for Chrome OS?" feels a bit unfair.

The higher tiers of this device ARE overpriced, and from what you're describing they shouldn't have even done a Celeron version, but I'd rather see you compare Google's best to Apple's best and let Google fail on value, rather than compare Google's worst to Apple's best and fail it on quality.
